Balloon Release: Messages of Support

It’s been nothing but gratifying to see my peers release balloons and watch as they fly up into the sky holding messages of peace and equality.

Since we started this movement, we’ve had several workshops to find ways to express our solidarity in helping out with women’s rights and the feminist movement going on in Iran. We came to the conclusion that even the simplest of actions can have great meaning and, thus, came up with our solution.

Why don’t we release balloons carrying messages of support and empowerment for Iranian women?

Simple yet effective.

It’s a signal that we are willing to fight, willing to put in the effort and energy to stand in the way of oppressive forces trying to put down women who deserve so much more than the rights they currently have. It’s a signal that we care.
